31 Jan 2nd round of chemo done, and responding well!
Mom is between treatments 2 and 3 and is responding very well! The abdominal pain which sent her to the ER in November is gone and she no longer takes even the tylenol-3 (with codeine). Her voice also seems to be strengthening, we had been told her “mousy” voice was due to the cancer in the lymph nodes squeezing her vocal cords. She has an appointment in February with her oncologist to discuss another scan at some point to see how the cancer has been impacted.
Mom had gained so much strength back! She is now able to get around on her own, tend to her own personal ministrations, and is making food on her own as well. We are so thrilled she has gained her independence back!
She did say her hair is coming out in clumps due to the chemo. Considering everything else she has been through her spirits are not dampened and this is merely something that has happened. (I say, if you have scarves, please send them, it is still cold in Boulder!)
We truely believe mom’s recovery is due to the support and devotion of her friends and the larger communities around her. There is no way to express the gratitude and awe we have felt as everyone came together to help. Thank you a thousand times and more for all the hard work and love!
